Rafael de los Santos, also known as Poteleche, is a Dominican street artist. He chose this alias in tribute to his first job, as a milk delivery man. He has never studied art, only took some drawing lessons while he was studying publicity.

He likes to joke about his simple cartoons saying that rounds are the only thing he can properly draw. You may find the majority of his creations in Santo Domingo, the capital of the Dominican Republic and the rest on the through his Instagram account and his website. Poteleche wants his art to be as approchable as possible, he considers that art is for everyone. His productions are full of humour and nods to the Dominican culture which allows him to introduce his island to the world.

Poteleche is not only a funny cartoonist he is also an engaged artist, that’s why he denounces the Dominican Republic’s situtation in many of his works showing the several tensions due to Haïti or immigration in order to make people wake up and smell the coffee on the Dominican situation.

"Let's see if they're organised, because they've

already attacked me here"

His graphs are simple and funny allowing him to keep a balance between political and random subjects. Poteleche’s graphs are a window on the Dominican Republic, showing us its goods and bads.
